Recently I answered about forty some-odd questions and was ridiculed for spelling two words wrong. I was just wondering if everyone really does feel spelling reflects a persons intelligence, or just carelessness? Or is everyone here with me on the point that WHO CARES and these spelling whores need to take it easy?!
I feel that just because a person cannot spell does NOT reflect his/her intelligence. So I never won a spelling bee, does that mean I have an IQ of 75; Absolutely not. (Besides, I spelled two words incorrectly, friggn' shoot me). Some people who are obsessed with spelling to me I think may actually lack intelligence. So they know how to spell big words, but that is ALL they know how to do. Spelling correctly makes up for the knowledge that they lack.
And just to add...For those of you who wish to correct me on the word "Forty." This is the correct spelling for when used in this context, you drop the "U." So don't even try it.
