Yes, this is in fact a trivia question - what exactly is an octothorpe? [Also spelled octothorp in various places.]

Before you go running to the internet to look it up, have fun with these hints:

1) Hold on, you probably have seen this every day!

2) You can hash this one out just from the clues.

3) I'm not going to pound the answer into your head once you get it, don't worry.

I see a lot of young people on here asking for answers on their homework. I see a lot more young people readily providing answers.

My question is aimed at these people: Why do you come here for answers? How do you know the answers can be trusted? Do you realize teachers consider this cheating, and you can get in trouble for it?

I was considering going to college(possibly at the school of Visual Arts in NYC) to get a degree in photography. I am wondering if this would be a good decision. Are there any jobs for photographers nowadays? What kind of jobs could I obtain? I could use some advice from some professional photographers. Thanks.

the reason I ask this is cause I have posted 2 q's thus far on the issue, and the only anserws i got either relate to education, or mainly socailization. So I would like to know of those anserws who can back it up with unbiased legitimate studies?because as a homeschooling mom i have read study after study.Especailly before I decided to homeschool to make sure it was a good choice, and even the us dept of ed has studies on this topic where they even found homeschooled children to be well adjusted socailly , as adapted as their peers and sat scores to be higher than most public schooled children. So if there is negative studies out there that can support claims that homeschooling is mentally damaging to kids and the anserws ive received are based on fact rather than perception, Id like to see it.
