the reason I ask this is cause I have posted 2 q's thus far on the issue, and the only anserws i got either relate to education, or mainly socailization. So I would like to know of those anserws who can back it up with unbiased legitimate studies?because as a homeschooling mom i have read study after study.Especailly before I decided to homeschool to make sure it was a good choice, and even the us dept of ed has studies on this topic where they even found homeschooled children to be well adjusted socailly , as adapted as their peers and sat scores to be higher than most public schooled children. So if there is negative studies out there that can support claims that homeschooling is mentally damaging to kids and the anserws ive received are based on fact rather than perception, Id like to see it.

I'm with you. Let's see the valid studies!

NHERI has done a tremendous amount of research. Dr. Brian Ray and his colleagues give presentations in courts of law, to the US Congress, and to governments of foreign countries. The statistics are clear and present the fact that home-schooling is a very good method of education.

I personally helped with one project that involved questioning home-school students in regards to the military. The study involved questions that could help the military adjust their enlistment requirements and recruiting policies.

Every home-school will have it's "issues" just as every public school has areas that need improvement. The question is: Who do you trust more -- parents or the government?

ok for the guy who wants stats heres some http://www.hslda.org/docs/nche/000010/200410250.asp
,http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/736949/posts
and theres alot more out there on this subject than just this, also note that these stats on the 1st link include stats from certain state dept of ed..youre just blowing ignorant hot air.And claiming that most parents homeschool to abuse their kids? That has to be a joke, cause if thats the case why are colleges so interested in homeschooled kids now?if a child has been abused wouldnt he or she have some sort of effects from it that would show in thier academic work one way or another?and what about socailly?homeschooled children have been proven to be very social and friendly and self confident, wouldnt abuse tear down this also?wouldnt it make them less social and self confident?and what about the parents , do you realise how much time and money a parent has to put into educating thier kid at home?So you think the average child abusive parent will go through all this just to hurt their kids and hide it?Im sure there has been some homeschooled kids who have been abused just as there are public schooled kids who are.but that doesnt mean all parents are evil.Basically what you are claiming isbased on ignorance and someone just wanting to run off at the mouth. Why dont you do as the person who posted the question ask and show us some links to studies that support your ideas?you claim you cant but you feel this way so prove it.show us some studies on how bad homeschooled children are abused and how poor they do on test scores and such.you have to remeber homeschooling is growing every year, I think theres like 1.1 million now.thats alot of kids for you to be claiming to be abused.

POST A LINK!!
Show me the average SAT scores of HSers and the average of ALL
Although YOU do realize NOT all students take SAT or ACT
I still assert there is a great number of parents using 'home schooling' as an excuse to pull thier kids out of school so less people know about their abuses. I'm pretty sure their not going to let them take the SAT or ACT anyways
and NO I have no link to FBI studies of child abuse and homeschooling, so I guess I'm 'telling tales out of school'
