I have a 4 yr old daughter that "can't" learn her ABC's. We have sat down and went over and over them. Starting with A, B, and C only. I can hold up a flash card, tell her that "this letter is an A" and keep telling her and make her tell me. Then I pick the flash card up again and ask her what it is and she will tell me she either doesn't know or she will ask me what it is. It's getting frustrating because I knew my alphabet by age 3. I've wrote the letters, I've had her write the letters, and we have used the flash cards. What's left aside from whoopings??

Me and my friend are at a bit of a confusion here. He says you can just take ur GED, drop out of high school, and go to college.
I'm think there's some sort of catch...
Like it's not as "valuble" as a high school diploma.

I just don't get why you can get a GED and get out of high school and it's the same effect as graduating.
Just like someone to clear us up here.

I recently joined apparently the rest of the world on myspace and many of my students have found my profile and sent friend requests. I don't know whether I should accept them as friends or not. I don't have any explicit materials or anything questionable, but... I have stressed in my classroom several times that I am not there to be their friend, but to be their teacher and they would one day respect me more for that. Also, I teach students that are in the low socio-economic category and need good, positive role-models. I know that I serve that role in school, but what is appropriate here?

Im a senior applying to UC schools like UCLA UC berkeley UCSD. I was wandering if My GPA is high at 4.12 with clubs, good extra curricular activities, 50 hours of community service, 150 volunterring hours(TA), 1 year of work experience in a restaurant, taken 7 AP Test passed 3 tests. Im in jazz band. I take private tennis lessons. If all of that is good what about a low SAT score of 1600 with Math 560 Reading 420 and Writing 420??? will UCLA accept me or not because of low SAT score???
