Yes, they are when it is a full ride scholarship. I know someone who got one for volleyball. It includes tuition, room, and board. However, you have to register with the NCAA for division 1, 2, and 3 to be considered for one. The GPA and SAT/ACT scores determine if you qualify to play for the first year. I know the scholarship is there definitely for Division 1 teams, but I am not sure for divisions 2 and 3. For some sports, it has to be done pretty early because of when the season happens in the school year for both the schools and the individual colleges.

Yep. Does one $5 bill pay for lunch the same as another one in your wallet? Of course! Money is money. As long as you live up to the stipulations of the scholarships (academic or athletic, or a combination of both) you should have no problems.

Not sure, but from what I've heard, they're usually better, although harder to keep.
