A 56.00 kg keg of beer slides upright down a 2.75 m long plank leading from the back of a truck 1.16 m high to the ground. The coefficient of kinetic friction, muk= 0.10.

a) Determine the amount of work done on the keg by gravity.

Fgrav = ma = 56(9.8)
Wgrav = ma*d = 56(9.8)(1.16) = 636.6 J

b) What is the total work done by friction on the keg?

I'm not sure how to go about doing the second part. I tried 548.8 N * 2.75 m = -150.92 J, but it didn't work. In this situation, is the work due to gravity positive, or am I wrong in my equation?

I will be entering my junior year next fall and will apply for nursing schools. I have been take the prerequisites and thought they were all hard especially Anatomy and physiology which I am taking now. Not doing so well. Did any nurses who have graduated and made it through....thought it was hard. I am having such a hard time I mean I am still young but everything seems difficult. Any one would like to share how they started out and advice for me.

Im currently doing my Bachelor of Engineering, and am doing an outhouse project in OTIS. The project entails the creation of a software that operates on a touchscreen device. The name must start with O, and there are very few cool names that do. One that came to mind was Oedipus (eeeyuck!). The best one we're on right now is Orchid! It currently stands for OTIS R____ C____ Human Interface Device. Can anyone help me out with the R.C.?? C for Car or Conveyor maybe? Any help would be appreciated!
