Not at all...after all they're human too. Well, now you're talking nuns in a Catholic school. That's a different story.

It depends. If they made a mistake and they say s***, then its okay because it doesn't hurt anyone. But if they said your homework was a piece of s***, then its inappropriate language. This rule will have to be lifted for students first though in order for the teacher not to get fired. Just the other day, I saw a girl who swore and she had a chat with the assistant principle. If the teacher even thought of swearing, they should keep it down to a minimum so its considered "bad" to the students and the boring class becomes the next hot thing in the gossip world.

Yes, I do. If a teacher who is to provide an example for our children (all the way through high school) does not have enough vocabulary to prevent their cursing in public (in class), then they are not an example I want my kids to follow. How can they expect the kids not to curse if they do it themselves? Cursing is an open door to showing their frustration - we need to teach kids a different value.

Context, intent, situation. Not immediately fired, but, put on notice that this behaviour is disrespectful to the students. Lead by example. You get respect when you give it. It would be great to have good examples. Even though everyone is used to hearing cursing as everyday conversation, it would be nice to return to respect. The good ol' 10 commandments come into play here.

Depends on the situation. When I taught ESL, the foreign students wanted to learn how to speak exactly like what they hear in American films, which naturally enough included bad language. The students were adults and older teens and they were really interested in how to curse just like a native English speaker.

Uhhh...well, it depends. As a student and a teenager, I'd normally find it quite amusing, because I don't hear it often, BUT, I got a new Social Studies teacher this year, and she curses. She's horrible. She relates thing in Social Studies to her real life (recently she told us how she hated Bill Clinton because he was a liar. She claimed that she hates liars and cheaters. a.k.a. Bill Clinton, but she related it to her husband who lied and cheated on her, and who is in jail now. ) When she does that, it makes her angry, and she curses and takes it out on us. She yells and screams. I cannot stand her. I think she should be fired imediately!

I think it depends on the circumstances. High school teacher, no. Preschool teacher, probably. But regardless, all schools usually have a policy in place on this. If I were the principal I would probably base it on the circumstance and what the teacher contributes otherwise.

In front of the kids?!!!! Immediately!!! Out with friends in a social situation....depends on if there are other kids around. Teachers are people who want to instill the best in children, all children and that's not a good example.

Depends what grade. I remember having teachers that cursed in middle and high-school so they would be considered "cool".
