I am a native Spanish speaker, and a teacher of English. But I am trying to help a friend who is learning Spanish on his own. He struggles when it comes to use "be" in Spanish. I can give him many explanations, but I think it would only confuse him more. A native English speaker who teaches Spanish would probably give a brief, concise answer, which is what he needs.

I was told I had an awful lot of grammatical errors. As I don't want to look bad again please remind me of how to distinguish when one should start a new paragraph. I know if the subject is changed you start a new one but there is a fine line to me sometimes, meaning if it qualifies for a new paragraph or if just elaborating on the same subject needs a new one.
I just have been out of school too long.
Were there any mistakes in how I composed this question. Thanks.

I need to translate something from Spanish to English:
Esa droga me boló la cabeza.
Literally, it would be something like: That drug flew my head.
But I suppose that is not as you normally say it.

I have translated it as: That drug shot my head out.
Could any of you help me?
