I'm almost sure I'm going to start the Pharm. D program at LIU in Brooklyn. The high pay is my #1 motivation, #2 would be I've always been interested in Medicine and Science. Please feel free to tell me about your experience as a Pharmacist. Thanks!

The average pharmacist works between 40 and 44 hours a week. There is stress dealing with the customers. People do yell at you. If you go into the degree just for the money, you will not last.

I am a certified pharm tech! I think that you should definately get experience before you actually got to school for it. Yes, you do have to learn the medicine and all that ****, but you also need to know how to manage working in the pharmacy. I new a pharmasist, although he had a good degree and was a great pharmasist, he went crazy under stressful conditions (yelling at techs and the hole bit). Difference pharmasists react differently to working in the pharmacy. That is why most shools require some experience in the pharmacy. Either you spend your life hating it or loving it. You need to make a wise desision

I'm not a pharmacist, but I'm also going to school for pharmacy, and the salary is also my #1 motivation. All I can tell you is this- it's a low stress job with great hours that pays you A LOT. The drawback? The school is HARD.
