Have you ever noticed that most elementary school teachers are female? Not being sexist or anything, but HAVE you noticed that? I mean, usually it is. But I was in a school where some 6th grade teachers (Yes, 6th grade) were male. Once you get into middle school, there are way more male teachers. Do you think it may have to do with how a woman acts towards children? Or if a male teacher would act harshly towards a young child? And if you're a teacher, could you tell me why this is so? I'm really curious and I really want to know.

It was my third semester, and I had a C and an A and failed one course. Had straight A's the preovious two semesters, as well as in my undergrad degree. I will be switching to a MSc in Econ soon; could this bad semester jinx up future plans for me?

I am a junior in highschool. At the end of sophomore year, my GPA was a 3.7. I took two honors classes that year. This year, I am taking all honors classes (Chemistry Honors, English III Honors, Spanish IV Honors, U.S. History Honors, Algebra II Honors). I am also going to be doing two clubs at school, as well as a lot of volunteer work. Based upon this information, what colleges do you think I have a chance of getting into (providing that this year my grades are all A's and B's)? I am looking to apply to Lehigh. Do you think I have a chance of getting into an Ivy League school or Lehigh? What school do you think I have a chance of getting into?

This is at a public high school and I know that some of our band students will not be able to attend this trip even after all the candy bars, etc. are sold at fundraisers. The trip is a four day event a thousand miles away and is quite expensive. Is this a reasonable activity for a HS band?
