Education & Reference - 19 August 2006

I have a GPA of 3.90 and got 770 in Verbal and 800 in Math section for SAT and 12 out of 12 in essay. I was also a volleyball player for my school for four years (2 in JV and 2 in Varsity) and played football for one year. Was a member of Best Buddy's and one other club for three years and NHS for 2 years. Also, community service at the local library and my church. Am I in a good shape? And also, what do you consider a good GPA for these top 30 schools? Thanks!

Just recently, a racial hate crime was carried out in my high school and a series of fights took place afterwards, and are still continuing to this day. My teachers and several students are attempting to start a new program based on conflict/resolution. Do you have any ideas on how we can implement this into our classrooms?

I am tired of uneducated people saying that homeschoolers are behind academically and socially.
I know a few kids that have homeschooled and they are great kids.
I also know a ton of kids in school that are failing in school, doing drugs/drinking, getting in to all kinds of trouble and yes those that are socially retarded.

My brother was reading the dictionary (dont ask why, i have no idea!!) and he came across the 'F's and got to the word 'Flict' and i called him 'Deflicted' (play on owrds thing, ya know!! lol) but then my dad was like 'thats not a word!!' so i thought id come on here and ask cause i couldnt find it in the dictionary!! I am always told how hard teachers work, but knowing they get 12 weeks paid holiday a year, do all of them actually work during this time? Or do yo think the 3 months holiday a year is what attracts most people to the job??
