I will be a Spanish teacher in about a year. I'm taking my education classes right now, and we always talk about teacher-efficacy (the idea that a teacher can get ALL students to learn). Here's my idea..tell me if it is good, will it work?, or is it too juvenile for the highschool level???: since 1st year Spanish is basically like kindergarten...but in Spanish, would it be a good idea to have my class (within limits) think of it as kindergarten? I don't mean that we will be coloring and having nap time, but if I tell them that it is like kindergarten..learning to read, knowing the abc's, #'s, etc I think it will trigger them to think "well kindergarten was easy, I CAN do this" I want them to know that they CAN do well in my class, but I'm affraid that if I make this analogy of kindergarten that they will take it lightly or in a childish way. Any feedback..suggestions?

If it was that important wouldn't it be in the wrighters best intrest to just restate that information?
Does that bother you when you read a book to do that?
Do you find that chapter or page when directed to do so while reading?
I'm just trying to get a feel on what people like to read when they are reading!!!
I'm currently reading the compact reader to help me understand wrightings more and it has a lot of goto page on it! it disturbs me even more so when the book it self. in so many words say that you shouldn't do that say what you got to say!
the book says you need to know your demographic when you wright! so if you wouldn't mine answering this with your range of age i don't need excate teen 20's 30's 40's ect... and if you are male or female!

In about a year I'll be a Spanish teacher. Does the school give teachers the curriculum for their class so that they know what is expected to be covered for each level....or do you just kind of follow the book and it is assumed it covers the required material?? If they do give us the curriculum, how far in advance is it?

What is the best way for him to prepare/study to take the test? He has about an eighth grade education, and has a lot of problems with reading & writing comprehension. Have a really bright teenager living with me who is estranged from her parents. She's likely to get straight A in Maths, Chemistry and Biology and maybe going to study medicine. She has no support except from us and we can't support her through university at all. She'll be 20 this November. She is a dual national American and Belgian, although she's lived here for ten years. She's also racially Jewish.

Where can she get grants to get her through medical school?
