I attached a map to the email which was sent to my foreign friend. He said " The map of your area available to me is in Encarta " .
I can't understand it clearly. Encarta means what?

I'm about to start College and I'm clueless as to what I want to do career-wise. I know that I've still got time, but if I don't start looking I feel like I'm going to run out. I'm very interested in music and would maybe like to do something with that.

Education is really important to me and because I ran away when I was young, it has taken a lot of work to finally get a good enough collection of academic proficiency together to get accepted to as good of a school as I did.
But its only by exception that I was admitted, and I don't qualify for any scholarships or grants... I make a precarious living already, but I'm afraid once I leave silicon valley, I won't be taken seriously anywhere else, especially in Southern California...

I've been surprised with some sudden costly events and now in order to pay for everything, I'd have to find a really good job really soon, and then I still have to make sure I still have time for school. I don't want to end up as a stripper like a lot of other financially impaired girls at that school do, but I really don't want to start school and then be unable to finish.

I don't know which would be worse, and I don't know if I'll get accepted into another good school if I back out. Should I stay, or go?

Hello, in about a year I will be a Spanish teacher. I have noticed in my 6 years of being a Spanish student that for some reason it is a harder class for the majority of the students or it just takes longer for the concepts to click. I am quite confident that I know the material well and can explain the material clearly on the students' level and even have good activities to practice/to learn, etc the lessons. However, there is always the few who understand the lesson the day after the test or just right behind the others. What do you think of my following grading ideas and will it be accepted by the administrators (I'm not sure if they check into this kind of stuff):
#1giving all the homework for the lesson at the start of the lesson so everyone works at their own pace and having it due after we move onto the next lesson (of course I will have some kind of assessment in class to let them know if they are doing the homework right or by doing it in advance......

How many home schooled kids in general get through a professional degree like a doctor or engineer from a top tier college?

Is the percentage of "graduate professionals" skewed towards those who studied in a public/private school rather than home-schooled?

Does it make you uncomfortable when you see a female student wearing a short skirt and/or a low cut top? What about when a male student has his boxers hanging out? I'm going to be a teacher in about a year. Right now I work at JC Penney and I notice that a lot of young girls are dressing like well..you know. They have the tan going, jewelry, make-up, plucked eyebrows, legs shaved, short skirt, heels, and a skimpy tank. It is a little odd feeling when the child is dressing "hotter" than the adult figure. Of course a teacher should NEVER dress like that at school but please give me any comments. Tell me if you are male/female, what level you teach at, and any specific stories you have. Thanks

Why are are boys discouraged from becoming sissys at a young age. Does this not say that a woman is not as valuable a person overall because of her femininty?

Hello. I am 20 and I will be graduating in about a year. I'm going to be a highschool Spanish teacher. I'm concerned that that everyone will mistake me for a student. I'm 5'2" and I appear to be about 16-18. I know you must have the appropriate attitude to have the students under control, but does has anyone else had a problem because they are short and look a lot younger than they are?
