like braveheart, lord of the rings, excalibur and other movies based in the dark ages or medevil times. They make it seem like there were no black people during those times. i don't even think they called it dark ages because there was no sunlight i think it's because dark skinned people took over for a while back then but i don't know. tell me what you think.

I took one class at a community college that I tried to drop, but the teacher wouldn't let me and ended up with a 'F' grade. It is the only class that I took at that school. This would mean a serious blow to my g.p.a. I'm attempting to transfer schools. If I don't send the transcript, can they find out you went to another school? Is this going to seriously hurt my chances of being accepted to a school?

Should our educational system be changed in order to keep pace with our rapidly changing society?

When I was at school, eight years ago, doing my GCSEs, apart from maths, science and english, most of the subjects we were studying have no relevance into todays world and have all been forgotten by my feeble mind. What was the point of that education? What was the point of being forced to study religious education?

School children should learn more life skills - e.g. home financial economics, basic car repair, computer skills, on top of maths and english.

they could handle it- kids don't get enough credit, they're usually smarter than adults. elementary school is the perfect time to introduce Leary's research to a child (while their minds are still open, and they haven't been brainwashed by the conventions or our retarded culture)

who knows, maybe even have a field "trip" at the end of the unit...

what would be the best way to pitch this to the district?

I am just hired for a middle school teaching position. Orientation (where I can find out this type of info for certain) is not until the 21st. HOWEVER, I am arranging child care NOW for my kids. The job is almost an hour away -- can I get there at 7:55 a.m. and be OK do you think? It's my first public school job, thus my ignorance.

Thanks for your serious replies!

I volunteer at a special school and also i help these kids. The teacher said that i am a good helper and i work very hard. I love these kids. I understand them because i myself have special needs. The kids in the class have autism, deafness, and it is mostly a non-verbal class. The class is low functioning. I have mild mental retardation but it will not stop me from doing what i want to do. It will be the second school year for me to be helping at the special school. This school is the school that i have got special services from them that they serve soo many schools. I have got services for 9 years. from that schools services. I went to a regular school but in the school i had special ed. classes.
I am working on my 2nd language and that is american sign language. I have my own cell phone. Because we have mild mental retardation does not mean we are dumb or anything, we just have harder time doing things. Our life is a obstacle course. WE have to try extra hard to do things.
