I am overwhelmed with projects at work and at home and feel as if I'm spinning my wheels and not getting anywhere. I thought that if I set some goals I may make some headway... Any suggestions?

Prioritize your workload on a list. Set attainable goals for completing your task and find and implement strategies that will enable you to reach your goals.

Finally, learn to reduce your worry to items that you can actually control (See the book by Dale Carnegie on worrying)

It is hard to tell someone how to set goals for them. I know how to do it for myself, but telling someone else how to do it is more difficult. Set realistic goals for your situation. If its a cluttered room at home or a cluttered desk at work, set the goal in different stages.

1. Clean out room or desk of trash.
2. Clean out room or desk of items that don't belong.
3. Organize room or desk of things that belong.

I am a mother of 4 kids and I have learned that when you don't own a lot of things, there isn't a lot to get messed up. Don't get me wrong, we have a lot of stuff, but not so much that when rooms are messed up, it will take me forever to clean and organize. I am always telling my mother that when she gets over whelmed with the mess in a room, to look at one particular problem and conquer that first. Like take out the trash in a room and then the next day, take clothes baskets into the room and get all the other items that belong in other rooms and put them in the baskets and take to those places. Don't go through them at that time, wait until you get into that room. Then last, organize what is left and clean the area. The next thing you need to do, is go on to the next room and start that way.

You must prioritize all these projects!! Remember, though, that your family is more important than your job. Just make a list of everything you have to do and check them off as you finish them. You'll feel good!

Goals have to be realistic and attainable.
There's an old saying, " Try your best, God will take care of the rest."
And so be it. Good luck!
