When people say there are times in life when you need a little insight. Believe me... I NEED ALL OF IT AS I CAN GET!!!

I never liked school. I was the quite one but never really put forth an effort to do well. Heck, I didn't even take the SAT's. But still I squeaked by in graduating with a standard diploma. Now, I'm really starting to crack down and get serious about my life but my academic past and my surprise pathetic 1.6 GPA (Repeat 1.6) is always coming back to haunt me. I'm young, seventeen years old and really need to get on the stick. Is it anyone else's fault I was a total slacker? Hell no. I just need to get it together and I'm feeling the sting from the dumb mistakes I've made. But how can I when my GPA won't even get me into a community college or even the military? I feel stuck and can't live w/ the folks forever.

So is there anyone here who was in the same boat as me and got out of it and is doing well for themselves. If anyone can give me adivice it would be swell

I want to be behind ideas such as DVD players, Bluray, High definition televisions, electronic hardware in general. What major would you take to become behind such ideas. I believe its engineering, but I'm not sure. My previous idea for a major was computer science, anythoughts on which is better is greatly appreciated.

One I've heard that I like is "I'm dropping the kids off at the pool." My co-worker always has to "see a man about a horse," which I don't quite understand.

What are yours?

Hello, my name is Albert Custard Jr. and I am an eight grade student at Ellender Middle School in Marrero, Louisiana. I have been nominated to represent my school and my community at the National Young Leaders Conference in Birmingham Alabama.

The Conference brings exceptional middle school and high school students from around the country to an interactive program. I have enclosed the invitation that was mailed to me for you to review. As you can see, this will be a powerful and life changing experience enabling me to interact with many prominent men and women whom most of us only see on television. Attending this conference will enable me to develop my leadership skills and reach my career goals. For me to attend the conference, I have to raise the tuition and travel expenses.

I maintain a 3.8 grade point average. I am an assistant captain in Ellender Middle schools Academic Games program. I have just been inducted into the Junior National Honor Society. I have been awarded six trophies for maintaining an “A” average and I was also awarded two Superintendents awards, 12 honor roll certificates, two scholastic achievement certificates, and five perfect attendance record awards. I also have had the honor of being student of the month. My favorite accomplishment is when I was elected Mayor of a small pretend city in Delgado Community college called Exchange City. I currently work as a screen operator in the Video and Screen Ministry at Greater St. Stephens Full Gospel Baptist Church.

The reason I’m asking for your help, my father is on disability. He was diagnosed with Chronic Congested Heart failure (He has an extremely low heart rate) and could not work ever again, and my mother just makes enough money to keep us going from day to day. That is why I am writing to you today.

My participation in the Conference depends on whether or not I can raise enough money in sponsorship. The tuition is $1404 plus travel expenses. I was also hoping to make a little more money for my parents to come.

I am hoping that you will assist me with just a small donation. My tuition must be paid no later than August 4.

Your support for my sponsorship request would greatly be appreciated.

If you have any questions please contact me at 504-328-2941 or e-mail me at Custard93@yahoo.com

Sincerely,

Albert Custard Jr.

P.S
I already saved 200 dollars I just need the rest.

What do you think of this quote?

People ask me, what is the purpose of life? And I respond: In a nutshell, life is preparation for eternity.

We were made to last forever, and God wants us to be with Him in Heaven. One day my heart is going to stop, and that will be the end of my body-- but not the end of me. I may live 60 to 100 years on earth, but I am going to spend trillions of years in eternity. This is the warm-up act - the dress rehearsal. God wants us to practice on earth what we will do forever in eternity. We were made by God and for God, and until you figure that out, life isn't going to make sense. Life is a series of problems: you are in one now, you're just coming out of one or you're getting ready to go into another one. The reason for this is that God is more interested in your character than your comfort.

-Rick Warren (Interview), author of The Purpose Driven Life.

Remember there are parathesis after the sentence.
1. "What happened?"(Mason, pg.13)
or
2. "What happened"(Mason, pg.13)?

If I had to put in a 'period,' I do it like #1. It's the question mark that is screwing me up.
