I want to be behind ideas such as DVD players, Bluray, High definition televisions, electronic hardware in general. What major would you take to become behind such ideas. I believe its engineering, but I'm not sure. My previous idea for a major was computer science, anythoughts on which is better is greatly appreciated.

Engineering is a good field and you can make a lot of money in this field. As to what will get you into the field you really want. Talk to a counselor when you are signing up for your classes. They can give you a lot of help and point you to the classes that you will need to achieve your dream.

Yes, electrical engineering is what you want. Specialize in electronics. EE includes a lot of areas, like power generation, semiconductor physics, and others, so make sure you go to a school which offers courses in electronics. Not all offer that.

Well, sounds to me like you need some counseling. Try talking to your a counselor at your university (contact via e-mail/phone). They are the best adviser. It's your education, don't take it lightly.
