My daughter was having a bad day at work...I took her to an upscale restaurant after her shift to cheer her up.
We get seated, the waiter brings our drinks and proceeds to spill strawberry lemonade (thick and sticky) in her lap. He says sorry, he grabs a towel, a couple of other waiters come over w/ towels and clean the mess up off of her chair. The manager comes over, says "what can I do?". Told him to do what he felt was right. Didn't think I should have to ask for anything. Figured he would at least comp us either her meal or dessert and move us to a different table (didn't happen). My daughter said she didn't want to get the food to go. Food comes, we eat, both ordered desserts to go, bill comes, Am charged full price for everything. I realize this was an accident...but geesh!
When I told my daughter I was going to talk to the manager, she got upset and said "I just want to go home, shower and put this behind me". Do you think they did the "right" thing in this case?
