In real restaurants in the cities, we don't, but I once visited a poor village and I saw people doing that in a roadside small restaurant.

btw, cats and dogs are also pets in my country. It's our human nature not to eat pets. However, I have to tell you some people are simply uneducated, so I think they do. If you want to insult the Chinese people by saying we eat RATS, I have to tell you today is the most disgusting day in my calendar. Thanks my friends.

You must remember that China was and is often called the "Land Of Hunger" - not so long - just some 30 years ago there was a great famine too, and many Chinese who survived that time can tell you horrible stories when there was NOTHING to eat - and they used to eat grass, leaves and other unimaginable things. It can't be even compared with the food shortages during WWII. So - the conclusion is - in general, the Chinese can eat everything - cats or dogs (mostly puppies). And this happens all across China - in the north, south, cities and villages.

No they do not serve dog meat only cat.

Chinese resturants do a public service by keeping the streets clear of stray cats and in so doing provide competively priced food. If you are not keen on eating cat meat simply ask the resturant not to include it in your meal

Not cats, Chinese never eat cats because that's bad luck.
But northern Chinese does eat dogs (and consider it a delicatessen!) and so does the Koreans. However you won't find dog in your local westernised Chinese restaurants.
I've see northern Chinese eat deep fried scorpions and grasshoppers. I heard they are quite nice.
French people eat frogs and snails... And then aircrash survivors eat deat people, so there you go...

You should be able to answer this question by observing one simple fact:

Have you ever seen any stray cats near a Chinese restaurant?

No, not even digging in the dumpsters. That is because cats are not cannibalistic.

Not in the United States because you may never know when a health inspector went in there for lunch/dinner and is just enjoying a meal with family./friends. If that health inspector saw it, they would have all been shut down.

I'm sure it happens in some places, but with the restaurant industry in general(not just asian) ignorance is bliss, a lot of stuff happens that would make most people sick to their stomachs.

YES THEY DO!

I live across the street from my vet and there are 4 asian restaurants in my neighborhood.

I NEVER see the animal morgue truck at the vet.

The last time I took Kitty to the vet, I asked the receptionist what happens to the deceased animals (they take in strays).

She pointed next door, which is King Fu restaurant.

YUKYUKYUK!
