How do servers and kitchen staff react when restaurant customers request that prior to the meal being brought to the table, 1/2 of it is put in a to-go box? Are customers given a hard time about this? Its often recommended for portion control or to avoid overeating but i want to see how realistic or common of a request this is. Anybody work in a restaurant that can speak on this?

Please HELP me find a business topic for research paper.?
I am doing a research project in my business communication course. The topic can be on just about anything as long as it relates to business somehow. Please be creative and help me out with finding a new topic. The best topic that I came up with so far is, the effects of transfat ban in fast food resturants. If you can provide me with any source that would be huge. Thanks!

I'm going on a picnic and I want to bring some boxes of pizza along. However the picnic location is about 1hour away from where I'll be coming from. How do I keep the pizza warm for that long until I get there? It's a nice rural area with no pizza places so ordering would be out of the question and it's about 1hour away from every other city. So if anyone has any good suggestions please provide them. Thank you!!

It seems opening a bar is the least riskiest of all, but opening a nightclub is the "sexiest"; however most of my experiece is from restaurants.

What do you think? If you could open either in a city like Toronto, what would you open?

I saw in a documentary type show that stated that when even the poorest Chinese household recieves a guest; they don't ask how are you, they don't say, "well hi we havn't seen you in a while"; NO the first thing they say is: "HAVE YOU EATEN"; so I just wondered: if this is THE traditional greeting, why is it not the first thing you see up there on the wall in Chinese letters that I couldn't read anyway, ( but suredly the feeling of tradition would make the Chinese Owners proud ), in every Chinese Restaurant in the world ?

I sure can't copyright this one, but I am probaly going to make a bunch of money for several sign manufacturers with this one.

My husband and I are going to Paris next week for our anniversary and are trying to find a romantic, dressy, moderately priced dinner to celebrate the occasion. Our hotel is located about a block from the Louvre, so we're trying to find a restaurant close by. Also, we're still in college and cannot afford much, and are hoping to not exceed $150 total for the meal. Any help, tips, and advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!!

This isn't meant to sound boorish, but why don't people dress up for dinner anymore when they go to a fine restaurant? When I spend a few hundred dollars to take a lady out, I don't want to see people dressed like they are going to Denny's. I miss fine restaurants that have a dress code. Anyone else feel this way?
