I just started working there and I absolutly love my job. It's the only resturant where I can really have fun and talk to my customers. I've never done a waitressing job before but the atmosphere here makes it so easy to fit in. It's funny to me that people are like "Hooters girls are sluts" and this and that, just because of the uniform we wear. Take a look at the Hooters history and the meaning of why they make the uniform that way. Hooters was started in Clearwater FL, it's a beach themed resturant. You'd see women wearing a lot less on the beach than what you find in the resturant, and that's by THEIR choice. People need to be a little more open minded about things, and understand why things are done the way they are before passing a wrongful judgement.

While ordering appetizers i briefly glanced at the amazing cleavage our waitress proudly displayed with her V cut shirt. She couldn't tell me fast enough " excuse me, but my eyes are up here". So later when the appetizer arrived and we were ordering entree's she was staring at my thinning hair instead of my eyes while I was talking to her. I said "excuse me, but my eyes are down here". She huffed at me and stormed away without taking our order. The manager came to the table and 'politely' informed me that I was not to harrass his waitresses. Well, we stayed at that table for what seems like forever, ordering more drinks, bread, this that, more napkins, more silverware, and anything else we could think of. For her tip I wrote on a napkin "No tip for you B**CH".

Would YOU have tipped her?

I am particular about customer service, I don't blame the server, but in some cases they are terrible. My wife thinks I'm just cheap, but in my opinion a tip should be earned.

One day the first grade teacher was reading the story of the Three Little Pigs to her class. She came to the part of the story where the first pig was trying to accumulate the building materials for his home.

She read, "...And so the pig went up to the man with the wheelbarrow full of straw and said, 'Pardon me sir, but may I have some of that straw to build my house?'"

Anyway sometimes my boyfriend reminds them that he wants dessert, it just really annoys me that the don't ask. Then they don't ask me. The just assume just he wanted a dessert. I don't get it. Also, why do they bother with a dessert display and all this good stuff, and then not ask you? LOL!

I've noticed that servers will hand you a box when you request your food to go? What happened to the days of the server serving you (duh! Hence the title, food server)? And should this reflect on their tip, since they don't want to do the work they're expected to do? After all, I go out to eat to relax and be taken care of, not the other way around.

Also, is there is some new policy within the food industry about boxing food, please let me know because I'm really disturbed by this trend. I don't think it is very classy to hand the people you're serving a box. It ruins the experience. Thanks.

Also why should I tip when I just paid an inflated price for a cup of coffee and the workers wages are not lowered to reflect the inclusion of tips?
This seems to be a trend in cafeteria style restaurants, where you carry your own food and get your own drinks, and trendy coffee shops. When you shuffle past the people making the food to pay there is a tip jar. What have they done to deserve a tip? Would it be acceptable for the attendant a a self serve gas station to put out a tip jar?
I understand that it is a fairly unrewarding job because I have done it and would have never thought to ask for an automatic tip simply for handing over a tray of food.
Am I wrong in thinking that this is just another example assumed entitlement in our society?

I was filling out the application to work for dennys and on the bottom it asked how much I wanted to get paid.Im not sure how much the job is worth yet and i dont want to ask for to much cause then they wont even look at my application again.I need help. About how much should i be working for. Im a pretty damn good worker i stay on my toes and im very good at keepiog pace but im pretty sure the managers dont know this yet and i didnt leave my old job with the best impression what should i do? please help anything will do
