I am a kinda a freaking liberal, who is always aware of mad cow, GMO, Dioxyine, environmental hormone, growth hormone and stuff.

Especially for mad cow, since I know how does it affect me, I have not eaten beef for almost 2 years.

Every time I go to Outback with my girl friend, she always gets steak on purpose to seduce me to eat beef. Making slenty eyes and enjoying that butter labeled, GMO, growth hormone, fat carb rump freaks me out.

Is beef really that good? I can't recall the taste of it.

I'm not saying every server out there is wonderful; yes some are horrible, some are mediocore and others are fabolous. But, honestly, serving is one of the most difficult jobs out there. It can be very rough and discouraging.

It's just like any job. I ask those individuals that really have a problem with servers to evalute themselves in their own jobs. Are you perfect all the time? Probably not. But don't think b/c you had one or two bad experiences at a restuarant make you think all servers are bad.

Not all servers are tip hungry, rude, slow or stupid individuals; do not degrade them as such. I am a server and I am also a full time college student. So many times I have been degarded and belittled by complete strangers (one time I was even on the verge of tears)

Of course, I am a very polite, so I have to say I just take people's crap. I also have to say, I am a pretty good server (I do make good money)

Opinions?

Does it bother you when you are in a restaurant and the busboys are cleaning the tables that they use the same towel to clean both the table and the seats with? Sometimes cleaning the seats first. This happens in many restaurants, both high and low class. I feel that is a little unsanitary or am I being anal?

I was just wondering about this annoying problem of having a bite to eat in food courts, such as in malls etc. I sometimes find the tables to be filthy, no one cleans up after themselves after they eat. Why can't people be neater and learn to clean up after themselves for the courtesy of others that have to sit at the table and for the people who work there. There can be food and spilled drinks all over the tables, its just irritating... Don't you think so too?

a) walk right into a restaraunt and be seated immediately. someone takes your order right away and you get your food in a few minutes. little or no service. waiter isnt gonna be nice to you and tell him/her what his/her name is and ask how you are. you pay in the front at the cash register. approx time in restaraunt: 30 min

or

b) wait a long time to be seated. wait a long time for the person to give you the menu. wait a long time for a different person to come and take your order. wait a long time for your food. after you finish eating wait a long time for the waiter to give you your bill. then wait a long time for your waiter to come and take the bill. the service is excelllent. approx time in restaraunt: 1:00 hr to 1:30 hr

both restaraunts have the same food in taste and quality and they both have the same price. which would you rather eat at.

personally i choose a because i hate waiting to eat and to pay.

I enjoyed a great meal at a local restaurant last evening and had much positive feedback to give, but I did comment to the bar manager that the wine list would be even better if it specified the vintage of each wine. For some wines, the year can make a huge difference. I wonder if there are restaurant owners and sommeliers out there who just haven't realized that the extra effort required to update the current available vintages will pay off by adding an additional level of class and substance to their establishment.

when they go to a place like Chili's or TGIF? I work at a very popular chain restaurant, and I think i'm a pretty good server. I treat everyone with respect and give them everything that I possibly can; with prompt service and a smile. But really, what gets me, are those individuals that think the place is a fancy/expensive restuarant. They get upset that bread is not served for free, or a salad is not included with a meal. They are upset that they can't make a reservation or that the music is too loud, or that the TV is tuned to a Football game. What do these people want. Am I out of line with thinking that these people just don't get it. Any other chain restuarant servers experience this?
