It depends on where you work. Some places the server tips out the busser and bar. It's a percentage of sales. Every place is different. Maybe 1.5% to 4% to the busser/bar. Some places do 10% of what you make. Some places do an entire tip pool. They pool the entire nights tips and divide it up between everyone. And some banquet servers only tip out to their bussers or everyone makes an hourly rate. The tricky thing with banquet functions is that the server doesn't normally get the entire tip. They normally tip out the banquet manager a percentage plus their regular tip out.

Honestly splitting tips is not a good idea, because someone always works harder and someone always slacks, but if you must look at the hours worked by each employee, keep in mind the busy times and who worked thru them, and divide accordingly. Good Luck! Hope this helps, I have to split tips when I bartend where I work and sometimes it sucks!
