when they go to a place like Chili's or TGIF? I work at a very popular chain restaurant, and I think i'm a pretty good server. I treat everyone with respect and give them everything that I possibly can; with prompt service and a smile. But really, what gets me, are those individuals that think the place is a fancy/expensive restuarant. They get upset that bread is not served for free, or a salad is not included with a meal. They are upset that they can't make a reservation or that the music is too loud, or that the TV is tuned to a Football game. What do these people want. Am I out of line with thinking that these people just don't get it. Any other chain restuarant servers experience this?

Let me answer your question with a question...Ifit were your resteraunt ..wouldn't you want feedback from the people who are paying...The customer?? my opinion is service means to serve ..in japan they also help clean the floor restroom and do all duties nessesary to run a tight ship and no snot nosed punk barks ... i'm undervalued/overworked and underappreciated ...service is a lot like cleaning toilets...It has to be done and a good attitude goes along way....people who voice their opinion on how the resterauntshould do this or that are doing you a favor...We were in a nice resteraunt eating $50 plus meal and commented on the tacky tv on near the bar...unfortunately the waitress knows better than us..and basicly said so ....i tip accordingly.....lose the us and them mentality and you'll make more money...

First of all, Chili's and TGIF are not 5 star restaurants. Sooo-----
Regardless if your fancy or not--- service should be grandiose to say the least! You ought to know this if you are a server. The customer comes first no matter what! if the **** is in fact ****-- your not going to get repeated business and the eating establishment will eventually be refered to as a dive. No Tips For You Hey?
