Every time I plug my iPod into the computer it lists a play count for each song. What is that? It seems that the iPod is playing the same core of songs over and over but I made sure they were only loaded in once- does play count mean the number of repitions I WANT to hear the songs? If so- how do I get every song back to zero so that it plays more random songs?

I just bought a 60 GB ipod video and was wondering if anyone else has one. I want to slip it in a case rite away so it'll stay nice. duz anyone know of a case or a brand of case that they really like and keep the ipod in superb condition? I'm a bit of a neat freak so i need one that keeps it REALLY nice. I want a case that u can keep it in and use the click wheel and see the screen while its still in the case. any ideas? if u got it online please give me a link.

i own an rca lyra(kind of outdated 2+yrs) it's 20gb and can be replaced with a laptop hard drive. It plays various music/video/picture formats.
I also own an old 128mb mp3/wma player
they were fairly cheap and way cheaper now
all i do where ever i am is drag and drop files into it, no installation
so simple

my friend is a moron and gave me his ipod shuffle, which seems only good for data transferring
i started installing itunes until it said they would be spying on everything i do
yup, all set

anyway these things can function without itunes

it's pretty obvious ipods only exist off hype they create
cleaver marketing schemes
now every idiot thinks he's cool

i've been to the other side and it's 50times cooler
simple,inexpensive,way more functions

ipod's are for people who don't know anything else exist

My drive is broken and I would like to use someones laptop computer and use their iTunes to import the CD and only put those songs from the CD's to my ipod without losing any of my previous songs or gaining any of their songs. Is this possible? if not what is the best thing to do, use a jump drive?

I was wondering if I can get some help: I have over 500 songs (all MP3 files) in my Window Media Player, but when I get my I-Pod, how will I be able to convert my songs onto the I-Pod? I know it comes with a little kit to help yo download your music, but is it really easy to do, or difficult? Do u have to download I-Tunes first (and convert my songs there) before I get my I-Pod???

Tryed to put a video on it today and it said it couldn' t do as it was an unsupported media type. The video I was trying to put on was an MPEG file. What do I have to change it too, or does this depend on the make of the MP4. If so Its an import from Hong Kong!

I had one computer I started my iTunes account on. I put about 50 songs on that. It dies and gets taken away for repair. I get a new computer. No songs appear in the library with the same account. I buy more and put them on my iPod, but they replace all the current songs on the iPod. Old computer comes back with new memory. Asks me to authorize computer again. I do. Asks me to replace all current songs with songs in that library. I do, since I have all my current songs on the other computer. When I try to go back on my new computer to add the new songs, it asks me to replace the current songs with the songs in the library. So, I can only have songs from one library on my iPod at one time, but I want all songs on my iPod at once, Am I screwed, or is there something I can do????

I am thinking of buying an Ipod Shuffle for a few reasons. Its price, its size, the fact that i dont really need a screen and that 240 songs is plenty. But i've also heard that its really hard to put music from your computer to your ipod shuffle-is that true? and i also heard a rumor that you can have more than 240 song on your computer and pick and choose which 240 you want on your ipod shuffle-is that true too? I just want to make sure i know what i'm buying before i buy it. Any thoughts?

i have heard a rumour that if you save your songs on your computer as a certain type of file, you can fit many more tracks on your ipod. is this true?
