A truly random room? I'd guess less than 10. World population stands at something like 6.5 billion, while iPods have sold a total of about 89 million as of the end of 2006. And not all of them would still be functional. Now, if you're talking high school kids, most of them would be able to afford at least a Shuffle or a wealthier kid's previous model by working an afterschool job, so you'd probably be looking closer to 600-700 (since iPod only holds 70% of the total music player market, the remaining 300+ students would likely own a competing model or nothing at all). In the US in general, I'd guess it'd be closer to 100, as very few adults will have made the switch (at work, I only know of three other people who definitely own an iPod brand player, and that's between about 30-40 people on two shifts).

it depends on their age. but i would have to say about 800 of them. i have one too!
