How do I make a playlist?

I have an mp3 player, and I have no idea how to make a playlist? What exactly does it do?? Any answer will be greatly appreciated! :) Thanks so much!

if u hav itunes, thers a button in the bottom left corner that has a + on it. press it, then click and drag songs from ur library into it (its on the side)

click w/e program u use to play music normaly, and then hit send to portable advice.
