The new system i got put in it has nxg pro series speakers they are mounted on the roof of the house on top of the living room. The model number is Nx-PRO8030 high performance 8" ceiling mount speaker system. AND the Amp i got with it is Sherwood DV62CLR-S
I am wondering if i got ripped off or if i should get a better system like as if this is a weird brand that will suck and its not rialiable. What do you think.

Help! I have a BOSE Lifestyle 18 system with a remote control RC28T1-40. The remote has stopped working. Batteries are ok. Speaking to local BOSE agent, he suggests the radio code switches above where the batteries fit may have been altered. Does anyone know how to re-tune the remote to the Lifestyle System.

My cable provider is comcast, and wonder if by getting Satellite the channels will be sharper. I have a big plasma TV.
Location: Boca Raton, Florida
PS. By getting a $49.00 Direct TV package, how much that increases on an actual bill (after fees, tax, ecc ecc)??

Ok, I have a decent home theater system, it is a Yamaha yht 370, I like it a lot. It is a 5.1 with a 100 watt passive sub that sounds very good. I was thinking about adding a powered sub I saw at best buy. It is a yamaha 100 watt, 10 inch powered sub and looks like it was made for this setup. But I am wondering since they are both 100 watts, if I will notice that much difference?

So can anyone tell me if it will make a big difference in listening. Also what if I used both subs? What would that be like? One in front and one in back by the surrounds? Thanks.

I was wondering if anyone has heard about which way BOSE is going to go in the HD Format. I have chosen to back blu-ray which I believe is the better technology and will eventually be the clear winner. I have a BOSE 3-2-1 system in my bedroom. I am looking to get a second blu-ray player nearer to the holiday season and use it with the 3-2-1. But, if I knew BOSE might be moving towards blu-ray, maybe I might wait for a new blu-ray version of the 3-2-1 model.
Just wondering..

thanks for the help everyone! im still having trouble! i have a vga going out to my pc and a dvi going out into a hdmi. i used a monstor dvi to hdmi converter to use the monster dvi cable. i can switch between vga and dvi with a button on the lcd monitor. the vga comes up fine. when i turn on the dvd player and switch to dvi mode it comes up fine as well with he samsung "on" screen. BUT when i put a dvd in the samsung hd850 the scepter 19 inch x9w the screen goes lite blue then black then lite blue then black. when i take the dvd out te samsung menu comes up perfect. i tried changing the dvd players specs fom 480 to 720 to 768. the lcds to res is only 1400x900. i changed from the dvd players rgb-normal to rgb-expand and from dvi A to dvi B. this is all in samsungs menu. I am pulling my hair out. the sceptre lcd displays the dvd player when it turns on but not the movie when i load it in the player!!!! What am i doing wrong? i feel like i ate a bowl of clown this morning guys! thanks!

I have been shopping around for dlp front end projectors to use in my apartment. There are some models that come with an 80" free screen and mount which is all I would really need for now as I live in an apartment.

But, I am thinking that I should by the projector first and try it our on my wall. then either buy a screen or build one.

The throw distances seem to vary alot by model and I think that will play a part in which screen size to get.

I would hate to buy a projector because I get a free screen and mount via mail in rebate (plus shipping of $50) only to find out I really don't need one or want a bigger one instead.

(I have an off-white wall that is very smooth and may do just fine as a screen, but I won't know til I test it)

Does the addition of surround speakers erode the quality of audio sound delivered through, say a CD player? If so, how?

Because I'm tired of having to wait to see which one is winning. I don't like the idea of the backing companies forcing the consumer to choose one or the other because it is they that have the most to lose if they spend thousands on equipment that will eventually become obsolete.

Personally, I back Blu-Ray. Why? Pirates!

We'd like to control our home theater as well as control our outdoor system. I have no clue what it is that I need but I'd like it to all be easily contained inside the house
(I'll run outdoor speaker wire from inside to outside for those speakers)
Which one of those do I need??

I read a 5.1 speaker system has to be set up like this:
http://www.pantherproducts.co.uk/Product%20Reviews/Pics/5.1%20Sound%20system.gif

But my room isn't set up to have the speakers on the left and right of me. It's too big. So the walls are too far away and I don't want to get extensions and it might be too far anyway. My first question is will it matter if all the speakers are in front of you and not set up properly like in the picture above? Will it still be better than regular stereo sound?
