Cell Phones & Plans - June 2007

My 12 year old is going into middle school. She wants a chocolate but I herd the phones are really bad. I have Verizon so I need a phone in that network. She shares a phone with my son(10) and other son(7) but they use it for ONLY games. My12 year old uses it for calling,texting and pix to her friends and family and we have let them share for a year and the phones in OK shape.

•overall is it a good phone?
•is the service provider reliable
•is it available in pay as you go?

I am with verizon, and want to move to AT&T for the iPhone. Verizon says they will charge me $175 even though there is only a month left on my contract. Any suggestions?

We are thinking of doing away with our landline at home and accessing the internet via our mobiles through a PC/laptop. Does anyone do this and what do you think? Is it worth it and is it a reliable connection? Any comments would be appreciated!

Hi I am buying a phone next week and I have only ever been on Virgin - which i think was reeealy good network, however i have found that not alot of phones have htis network, i.e - in the argos catalogue theres not alot of virgin phones, but loads of orange, o2 etc etc. So can anyone tell me which netowrk is the best - fast and cheap - orange? o2? vodafone? t-mobile? 3? or should i just carry on looking for a tasty virgin phone??
please help - and it would be great if you could tell me how much it costs to text and phone landlines etc if you have a particular network - thankyou all so much! p.s - english networks please.

On his cell phone plan. I am going to turn 16 in October and get a job. If I was able to talk him into letting me get on his plan. Would I have to wait 2 years for the contract to run out or would he be able to add me to his plan. I am going to pay my part of the bill ad was just wondering if this was possbile. How much would it cost for him to add me to the plan if possible?

My friend went out today as a graduation gift and got the enV by LG. This phone is normally very costly. She went today, and got the pleseant suprise that she was eligible for getting it at a reduced price. She bought her old phone in December of '05, making her eligible for a $100 voucher in October. How did she get this discount, and what was it for?! She said the guy said something about "new standards" and she was eligible for a new phone at a lesser price. PLEASE HELP ME!!!! I put the microsd card in the slot on my computer, opened it when it appeared in my computer, and just put my mp3 in the window. I closed the window and took out the card. I then put the card in my phone (LG enV) and went the Setting and Tools menu, then clicked memory, then clicked Card Memory, then went to My Music and nothing was there. Please help

I swam with it for about seven minytes and i dried it off very soon after. My service is Verizon. I Dried the screen with a hair dryer, and the inside display works, but when I Turn It on it gives me the Motorola Sign. Any suggestions can help.

If you only talk to Verizon people only (which is free) and you have unlimited text, and you have the plan for free nights and weekends so u can talk to others for free and you only pay for the phone bill, not the plan but the just the phone's bill, how much do you think that would be for paying just for the phone. One phone.

Another Question: For the free nights and weekends, can you talk to other networks for free?

My wireless account is with Cingular(AT&T), currently my nokia phone is doing weird stuff (dropping calls, cutting in/out, error message all the time regarding sim card). The answer seems to be a new phone, but I can't get a new one on my account until September. When new model phones come out, Cingular must have inventory of the older models - do they sell those cheap? Is there a overstock.com for Cingular compatible cell phones?

I recieved a txt msg today asking me to call them back on this number... 07817975917. I thought it could have been someone I knew but when I called all I got was the answerphone msg telling me that it was full and I couldn't leave a message, has this happened to anyone and have you found out anything about this number? I put it into google and came up with some results,that if you call it from a PAYG fone that you get free credit and on Gumtree someone is selling a mobile fone. I'm a bit worried that it's charged me loads of money to call it. The message was sent from a phone number that did'nt recoginise, how do they get hold of our numbers like that??
