I recieved a txt msg today asking me to call them back on this number... 07817975917. I thought it could have been someone I knew but when I called all I got was the answerphone msg telling me that it was full and I couldn't leave a message, has this happened to anyone and have you found out anything about this number? I put it into google and came up with some results, that if you call it from a PAYG fone that you get free credit and on Gumtree someone is selling a mobile fone. I'm a bit worried that it's charged me loads of money to call it. The message was sent from a phone number that did'nt recoginise, how do they get hold of our numbers like that??

I got a text message like that , but it was just a joke and when you called the number it was for the Sex Addicts Anonymous Hotline! I did have to call several times to get though cause the line was busy. A lot of people must be sending that text around!

Most of these things are scams and they just eat your credit. I'm with T Mobile and they obviously sell numbers as I've had a few that can be traced back to them.

Basically, don't call any numbers you don't recognise unless you don't care how much it costs!

Television is produced to the cheapest common denominator - i.e., the average IQ of everyone, whereas a written publication is written to the best common denominator

undoubtedly a scam! If it didn't cost you money they are just wasting your time! Check with your network whether it cost money or not.

I've had lots of those messages and I never ring them back cause it's a bit obvious really!

Call your phone company and see if it cost you money. If that person really wants to talk to you they'll call you. Don't worry about it.
