In the market, most electronic products that sell or at least appeal to the public are Japanese or Korean brands. For ex: Sony Vaio, Sony Camcorders, Toshiba, Kodak, Samsung,Sony Playstation, Nintendo, JVC, TDK etc.

I hear this from many of my friends who say basically the same thing "In America you can get the best, top-of-the-line electroncs like Sony or Toshiba or Nintendo..."

I ask them "these are Japanese brands...what about American brands?" To which they invaribly reply "If you buy American brand, it will definitey fail & you will end up spending a lot of money just for maintenance itself..."

Why do majority of the people have that opinion? Do American electronics really suck compared to the Japanese ones?

I know it can be done - but how? I can record Sky while I watch Freeview but not the other way around. It's something to do with AV2 I think. Help

I am a high school student in year 10. Age 15. And I'm looking to get a camera. Our family has a Minolta 3.2 Megapixel camera and to be honest I don't think its very good quality. Our family is going back to the Uk for Christmas and we will not be going back for maybe over 4 years. While i'm there I would like to get some great quality photographs of family so I can keep them forever. I need a cheap - 150 pounds - at most digital camera that is pretty easy and takes great quality photo's. Also I might be getting a mac book pro and it would be prefferable that the software is compatiable with mac. The camera market is a confusing one. Please give your help.
Thanks
Jake
