For convenience I want to transfer about 25 hours of Mini-DV footage to a 500 GB external harddrive & edit it on a laptop at work using the simple Movie Maker editing program (can't put a lot of thought in the creative process at work and want to splice together a quickie) & then hook the external harddrive up to my PC at the house and fine tune the footage using Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5 Will I lose resolution? Are there any "cons" I should be aware of before I start this endeavor? I appreciate your suggestions & advice.

I saw one advertised a couple of years ago.. but that was back in the days when an Ipod was about £300+ - what I want is a hifi system that has a built in HardDrive to play MP3s.

Is there such a thing? I know I can buy a docking station for a portable mp3 with a couple of small speakers.. but what I want is a standalone MP3 player and maybe radio and CD player

UK options only please

I have an Emerson Digital Video Recorder (Composite Video Out) connected to a Panasonic Video Cassette Recorder (Composite Video In). The VCR (RF Out) is connected to a Sharp Television (RF In). Both the DRV and VCR are connected to Comcast Cable via RF In.

I set the TV to channel 3 to display the output from the VCR. I set the VCR to 'Line 1' to pass the DVR output to the TV. I set the DVR to channel 6 (KDKA in Pittsburgh).

When I press 'Display' on the VCR remote, the time, tape count and channel are displayed on the TV. With the equipment set up as described above, KDKA is displayed by the VCR as the channel.

How does the VCR know what channel is selected on the DVR when they are connected via Composite Video? This only works with some channels. Other channels display 'Line 1' as I would expect.

I need AT LEAST 7 (9 would be great!) people who want an ipod. I need that many people so I can get 1, PLUS the 7 people get 1 too. I tryed the suggestions on the site to get referals, but I'm not doing as good as I thought. And I only have a week. PLEASE HELP!!!
(By the way, my referal page is: www.toys4free.com/graceylou. Oh, and you have to use that referal link so that I can get credit.)
If somebody could help that would be SO AWESOME!!!

I have a DSC-P71 Sony digital camera that accepts AA batteries. My instruction manual says that I should only use Nickel-Metal Hydride batteries. Why shouldn't I use other types of batteries? The instruction manual doesn't give an explanation.

What could happen if I use other battery types?

What do these adjust, and how can they be adjusted to take specific shots like indoors or outdoors?

What is aperture?

I've already got shutter speed figured out. Mine goes all the way down to 15 seconds... That is one of the coolest features I've ever seen!

I'm thinking about getting a sky blue LL Bean Deluxe Backpack. If any of you have one, I was just wondering what are the pros and cons of them.
Thanks
