I have just purchased an Xbox 360 from an American shop ready to take back to the UK. However, it says on the side of the packing DVD region 1. Will the xbox still work with UK games and DVD's etc? i have not plugged the station in yet.

you will have to get a step down transformer as for the games some of them are region free but not too sure which otherwise you will have to buy imports i think it will only run american dvd,s too

i think ,you cant use region 2 games on it but you can always buy region 1 on line direct from USA

No I don't think it will unfortunately. Also electrical mains compatibility needs to be confirmed, i.e. can it run on 230v (UK).
