Consumer Electronics - 26 June 2006

It's a camping/sports unit with a 5" black and white TV, AM/FM radio, two white flourescent lights, a flashlight that's just about a spotlight, a siren (in case you get hurt, you don't have to lay there and keep calling for help), an electronic bug repellor (which can be more irritating than it's worht), it uses 9 "C" cell rechargeable batteries, and has a built-in battery charger. I got it from Diamler Chrysler's Five Star management team as a bonus for attending an "In-dealership event".

I currently have a Motorola RAZR V3 which I have now had for 18 months so I'm due an upgrade. Trouble is, I have had a look around and can't decide what to get. I love my V3 and want to stick to the slim type models but I also want more functionality than the V3. I don't like the V3x though as it is slightly too chunky. Someone help me please!

I have been thinking lately of getting an IPod. I just have one basic question that I can't seem to get a definite answer.

Can I load regular old MP3 files from my hard drive to the IPod, or do songs have to be transferred to the IPod from an audio CD?

I have a camera now but want to upgrade. It needs a pretty fast shutter speed and good optical zoom. I want something that I can take good pictures with. I was thinking about something like a Nikon D50. Is there anything like it thats cheaper or where I dont have to buy a flash? Any ideas???

Who in this country at least, still has a rotary dial phone at home?

I worked a temp job where I was wearing a pager with voicemail access so that I could stay in touch with recruiters. I ended up quitting there, because the only payphone there was access to there was a rotary phone, so I couldn't dial my pager's passcode!

Since all "panel"-based displays (LCD, Plasma, LCoS, DLP etc.) are technically "progressive" - they display all veritcal lines of resolution at once, why do so many sources claim that 720p and 1080i are effectively the same? Either a set can display 1080 lines of vert. resolution or it can't - right? If someone knows of a reference that really explains the differences between formats and what they look like on the various display technologies, that would be awesome!

My younger brother just got an MP3 for his birthday and now wants to put songs in it. I have never had one and don't know how to help him. I Cant Tell If My Ipod Shuffle Is On Or Not, It Doesn't Play Any Music Either. I Might Need To Call Costumer Ser. But I Wanted To Ask If Any One Knew What That Ment.
