Who in this country at least, still has a rotary dial phone at home?

I worked a temp job where I was wearing a pager with voicemail access so that I could stay in touch with recruiters. I ended up quitting there, because the only payphone there was access to there was a rotary phone, so I couldn't dial my pager's passcode!

There are still a surprising number of people across the country with rotary phones. My 76 year old mom has one, and many of her friends do too. Also, don't know where you're from but I'm from Northern California (Silicon Valley), where we often make the mistake of assuming the rest of the US is as completely tech-savvy as we seem to be.

Where I live at in Illinois I never saw an old phone. I know my uncle and aunt has one in their house just hanging on the basement wall, but no one uses it. I haven't seen those kinds of pay phone yet. Where I work at now we just have a regular pay phone. Maybe it was just the jobs I worked at and the one now. I know you can buy them in the store for your house phone, but I haven't seen them as a pay phone in public yet.

Sounds like you're just griping. Hard to tell if you have an actual question or are just taking up bandwidth.
