My computer came with a 3 month trial of Norton antivirus.
This expired ages ago. I now have another antivirus. But the Norton pops up and does a scan every so often.
When does everything slows down.
Can I safely delete it? I had a look at doing this and it said some files are in the quanantine zone. Can I delete these too?
I dont want to delete anything important.

I think so because:
1) Microsoft OS is universal
2) Microsoft do good products of other software
3) It has a the bells and whistles
4) It don't crash like the earlier Win 95-98 did
5) Windows Explorer does the job no need for Firefox

Do you think I am wrong in any of my reasoning I am sure some of you do. But with computer power increased and better OS I don't see the need for something different.
Maybe if Microsoft was a bit more freely giving of their source code so other software developers could make their products run better on windows might be my only objection I can think of.

Problem: I reinstall my Windows XP Pro. But later i found out that it doesnt recognize my GEForce Video Adapter. It runs on system adapter which has no details or no "change driver" option (even on windows properties). I have also NO Display Adapter on my device manager. I have reinstall the GE force driver but then again, it doesn't work. Therefore i have disable the system driver and then the problem starts...

after loading windows, the monitor starts to show nothing, but the CPU responds tho my keyboard commands. I've tried the F8 command (before loading windows), the Safe Mode options, even the BIOS, BUT IT REALLY DOESN'T WORK!

HELP!!!

There are about 35 processes running. Where can I find a list of those tasks required to operate Windows XP and be connected via DSL?

With NO programs running except the DSL network and XP it seems 35 processes is excessive.

Thank You in advance.

Or you could stretch the lips and give them a big mouth. Anyone know of that program or something similar that is free?

Using the instructions given in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/921914/ first I disabled the WGA notification KB905474 (file version 1.5.0540.0) successfully.
Then afterwards I tried to manually uninstall the WGA notification KB905474 (file version 1.5.0540.0).
It is not working as the instructions are meant for earlier versions.
The command ‘Del %Windir%\system32\WgaTray.old’ fails to locate the file hence unable to delete it.
So I shutdown the computer as there is no way to proceed further.
When I restarted the computer after sometime to my surprise the notifications are popping up once again.
In ‘%Windir%\system32’ a new ‘Wgalogon.dll’ & ‘WgaTray.Exe’ files have appeared in addition to ‘WgaTray.old’ file.
Now I disabled the notification in the following way.
Renamed ‘WgaTray.old’ as ‘WgaTray.old1’ , ‘Wgalogon.dll’ as ‘Wgalogon.old’ and ‘WgaTray.Exe’ as ‘WgaTray.old’.

Please tell me how to manually uninstall WGA notification KB905474 (file version 1.5.0540.0) after reading the above.
