Using the instructions given in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/921914/ first I disabled the WGA notification KB905474 (file version 1.5.0540.0) successfully.
Then afterwards I tried to manually uninstall the WGA notification KB905474 (file version 1.5.0540.0).
It is not working as the instructions are meant for earlier versions.
The command ‘Del %Windir%\system32\WgaTray.old’ fails to locate the file hence unable to delete it.
So I shutdown the computer as there is no way to proceed further.
When I restarted the computer after sometime to my surprise the notifications are popping up once again.
In ‘%Windir%\system32’ a new ‘Wgalogon.dll’ & ‘WgaTray.Exe’ files have appeared in addition to ‘WgaTray.old’ file.
Now I disabled the notification in the following way.
Renamed ‘WgaTray.old’ as ‘WgaTray.old1’ , ‘Wgalogon.dll’ as ‘Wgalogon.old’ and ‘WgaTray.Exe’ as ‘WgaTray.old’.

Please tell me how to manually uninstall WGA notification KB905474 (file version 1.5.0540.0) after reading the above.

Here you go.,.....

RemoveWGA

Concerned that Microsoft's Windows Genuine Advantage program is
reporting back to Microsoft without your say-so? The free RemoveWGA
tool alerts you if WGA notification is active on your system, stops
WG A from activating when you turn your PC on, and permanently removes it.
