I purchased a PC from Dell on May 24, 2006. On June 23, 2006, my computer began freezing and stalling after booting up. I contacted a Dell Tech because I am covered by the one year warranty service. After the technician began "troubleshooting" my problem, he then "realized that another department could better assist me for a fee". He transferred me to the technician, who told me that I had spy ware on my PC and he could tell me to key in certain keys to remove it but I would have to either pay $99 for the service to take place the same day or I could purchase 4 sessions for the rest of the year for $249. I was in disbelief and declined the service. I have a brother who is a computer technician and asked him to take time out of his busy schedule to look at my computer. He went into my computer settings and recognized the problem
immediately. I did not have spy ware , viruses, worms, or foreign
invasion in my computer. My graphic settings was too high and my pc is ok.
