He forgot the word "to" and used a comma instead of a semi-colon... His English is superb compared to most Yahoo Answers questions.

Anyway, my sister is exploring her job options before graduating with a computer engineering degree, and I was a computer engineering major for a while before going over to electrical. So from my experiences, job opportunities can range from decent to very good.

On the low end of comp engineering, one could work in embedded systems (designing microcontroller applications). On the high end, one could work for a company such as Intel, AMD, or NVDIA designing cutting edge computer hardware. By high end and low end I am talking an estimated expected salary. You can also get into software development, robotics, or any number of other fields where complex digital hardware is used. Computer engineering may be a more specialized subset of electrical engineering, but it still has a lot of options available in industry.

An engineer's salary is almost always fairly comfortable, but you can certainly attain a "lucrative lifestyle" if you have the talent, ambition and love for your profession.

Yes, if this is your passion go for it... However if you choose it just for the money, then perhaps not. Happiness fits into the lucrative part too.

If you choose to go forth work hard in college and if this truly is your passion then it will not seem like work.
