The systems have the same hardware and software; same PTF levels on all software. Both are very CPU underutilized. This behavior has just begun occuring recently. The program has not changed in four years.

By the way, an AS400 is not a PC, it is a mini computer. It runs OS400, has extensive security, and does not get viruses.

That usually means a virus. Run your scans on both and compare the results for different entries and you will probably find it.Also take a look at what is causing the cpu to spike.

Gunner......the AS/400 can't get a virus.....

Some answers: File size, arms (how many disks make up your storage), model of machine and number of CPU cores available and assigned, are there indexes on one system and not another.

Damaged object can do this too.

it would probably be a good idea to get Rochester on the phone and see if they can get some traces from both systems and compare what is going on.
