Sometimes when i am browsing the internet, i get an activex bar at the top of the page and page is not displayed. I have tried allowing activex but it still doesn't help.

I have a new laptop...I need internet. I have no phone connection or cable connection in my apt. ..Do I need that for internet connection or can I get wireless even though I don't have an internet connection on another computer in my home? If so, how do I go about getting it? I don't want cable or a house phone..do I have other options...thanks b/c obviously I'm clueless!!

When i am browsing websites that have animation(GIFS), flash, or videos~ My Internet Explorer messes up. it has white little flashy lines on the screen every where- just like this, while i am typing i see little flags pop up behind this typing box, i see a bunch of words, and there are tons of jittery white lines popping everywhere across the screen.

I can't seem to be able to look at everything I want on the net. I don't mean dodgy websites or anything, I mean things that ANYONE could look at/read/use on the net! For example, say I'm browsing through the questions on this website and I click on one I want to read in more detail, this message comes up and blocks me: 'Error! This webpage has been restricted by the webmaster, press Back to continue browsing'. I don't get why that's coming up. I've been trying to do some research on the web for Uni and I keep getting blocked off from websites I need to use. Not necessarily whole websites though - I can sometimes go into a website but I'm blocked from certain pages on that site :-(
