Want to switch UK Broadband Supplier - understand I need to give my new supplier a MAC code in order to switch.

Is there a way to avoid like a day (maybe more) without access? I know what these companies are like and I need my Internet! Can I overlap (I would be prepared to pay two suppliers for one month). Not sure how it works - can I only be connected to one supplier at a time?

I have a 128kbps broadband internet connection.Loading of webpages is reasonably fast.But whenever I download a file, the maximum data transfer rate is never more than 20kbps irrespective of the source location.Am I being cheated by the service provider?

i have broadband, so why do i need to pay a host? my broadband traffic is unlimited, so how do i turn my pc into a server, and why dont people do this? i have several pc's, so tying one up just for this purpose wouldnt be a problem.

I get it in a message box every time I log on. Once I click the message off, the computer works fine.
It started when I downloaded Explorer 7 about 3 weeks ago.

Everytime I delete a bookmark in Firefox it returns the next time I go in. I noticed that when I ask the bookmark to delete I'm not asked if I want to send it to the trashcan, Explorer always asks.
There must be a trick I don't know about and the Firefox help files are useless. Please help. Thanks!
