The thing is I had original Windows XP Home Edition. When I brought the laptop to India, the hard disk was partially formatted. So I lost WinXP. I don't have my restore CD as well. It's still in the US !!

Get a legit copy of Windows. If you have a legit copy, try and use internet explorer.

You don't bypass it! Why would you want to if you have a genuine copy (not pirated) of Windows?
It is there to make the use of pirated copies hard to use and update.
