I recently purchased a 1gb sandisk memory card for my digital camera. I heard you can put music on it and then transfer it to a ps3. I put the memory card in to my computer where it goes. I then click my computer then memory stick. After i click on it, it suddenly freezes and all the icons on my desktop dissapear. It is annoying because i have to restart it everytime then. Please Help

I use my computer personally and for school. It has dual hard drives recognized as C: & D:, a back up partition recognized as E:, & a DVD drive recognized as F:. It's been configured by the IT department to connect to a network drive when on campus known as "The Student G: Drive", as well as a personal storage H: drive.

The problem is that I also have a 500 GB Lacie external hard drive that I occassionally connect as well as a 2 GB SanDisk flash memmory stick. Sometimes I plug these devices in and Windows XP automatically recognises them and assigns the appropriate I: or J: designation.

Sometimes when not on campus & as such, not connected to the "Student G: Drive" (Always present under network drives in the My Computer Tab), XP will recognise my Lacie/ SanDisk drive as the "Student G: Drive". Other times it will not allow me to connect to these devices at all even though the "Remove Hardware" icon shows up.

Can I set XP to always connect to the Lacie as I: drive? How?

I have a Digital SLR ( a Nikon D40x). I was looking for a portable hard drive for my laptop and thought of the idea to use it as photo storage as well. I have the wire that would be required to connect the camera to the hard drive. I found a good cheap portable hard drive called the Western Digital Passport 120GB External USB 2.0 Portable Hard Drive. Can anybody tell me if I can do this (and if so how) before i decide to buy the hard drive.

I got a retarded usb flash drive and it won't work. Don't try to help me I already posted for help and everything that people reply to me it doesn't help. I know its my dumb *** computer because the flash drives work perfectly fine on others. I just need a software that will allow my WINDOWS XP to recognize my USB Flash drives. I tried going to their websites but those are only for WINDOWS 98 and won't allow me to download them.

I am trying to squeeze out some more performance out of system before I retire her and get a new one. I currently have an Intel® Desktop Board D915PBL with an Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor 630. I have a single generic hard drive and a GeForce 7950 GT for graphics. I am running with 2G of RAM.

I am looking at the following upgrade options:

Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor 670
Running 2 HD's in RAID
Upgrading to a GeForce 8800GTX
Living with it for another year or so

Any ideas?

I have a Aesus A7S8X-MX motherboard and am now running two IDE/ATA hard drives. I've added a SATA drive (MAXTOR STM3250310AS) which I believe is blank..XP recognises the drive is there and says it is working properly but I can't see it in Explorer (should be F:) to format it. In Device Manager is has no location. BIOS is showing it as either Primary or Secondary SATA (I've tried it in both slots).
The Maxtor is SATA 2. The cable from Maplin was said to be suitable for SATA 1 and 2.

I've tired all the usual Troubleshoot Help for SCSI .
I have an XP installation disk but it's not the orginal one for the PC...
Any ideas?

I know this is to be expected, but where did that other 32GB go? Is it being used for something? Do those GBs contain a copy of (back-up) of my little Dell 40GB internal hard drive?

If not, that's a lot of wasted GBs.

I'm converting my old machine into a HTPC. It's an AMD 3000+ machine with 1gb of memory, and I'm looking to add a video card that will support high def viewing on my plasma. Currently, when connected with a vga cable, high def videos I download stutter and freeze.

I'm looking for a video card that will have an HDMI output and will support flawless HD viewing, so that HD videos that I download and record using my OTA HD tuner card will look great. In the future (1-2 years), I plan on purchasing an HD-DVD/Bluray drive and put that in the machine, so hopefully the card will support that as well.

Any ideas or thoughts? PCI Express interface, and hopefully passive cooling. Price isn't a problem.

Thanks!
