Is a 700W power supply safe for a Dual 8600 GTS? Here is the Power Supply I am planning on buying from newegg.

I have 1 Harddrive, Core Duo, 8600GTS 256MB GPU, and other regular stuff.

8600GTS draws up to about 4amps (47 watts) on the +12V rail. Core2 duo (up to E6850) draws up to about 5.5 amps (65W). Even a 450- 500W power supply with dual +12V rails can run that set up in SLI mode (2x8600GTS cards).

That OCZ 700GSX is overkill for your needs. It is designed for the 8800 series in SLI mode.

This all depends on what other devices you have in your system. Example: Number of harddrives, DVD's, Processor., memory amount. really anything that requires power.

Most 550 watt to 750 watt PSU's should do fine.
