i am wanting to know if the ati hd 2600xt 256mb pci-e video card will be better then my nvida 7600gt 256mb agp

Great for HD video but not really a good gaming upgrade versus your 7600GT.

Some games are optimized for Nvidia and others for ATI so some games would run faster on the one you have now and others on the ATI HD 2600. The ATI does have Hi-Def DVD decoding on chip so that is a big plus if you watch Hi Def DVD's

The ATI also has Dx10 support, but having read about some of the system requirements for the new Dx10 games it looks like you are going to need a beefier card than the 2600HD to utilize the Dx10 it has got.

Thought, unless you are watching Hi-Def Dvd's stick with your 7600GT for the moment

A note: PCI-e allows data to pass through more quickly than the AGP slow so the PCI-e card may work faster but I wouldn't expect huge differences.

Yes, most likely it is, but if you are thinking of replacing the 7600 with the 2600, they are not compatible. The PCIe card will not work in and AGP slot.

Yes it will cas its also an PCI-E which is faster that your 7600gt agp
