Where can I download a free software that doesn't require registering. I need to convert a 3gp file into either a mpeg or avi file. I need a program that can convert them fully without registering or paying. I already tried ImToo and Xilisoft or something...

I am deciding what type of CPU would best suit me for my laptop.... To my knowledge, if i plan to run multiple programs at same time (download off limewire and running a virus check at same time) a Duo Core would be best....but
If i plan on doing 1 task at a time (download off limewire, THEN run a virus check after download is complete) a good ol pentium 4 is best.
Am i correct?

I have a MacBook with Windows Vista hooked up in Parrallels desktop. Now, I can't connect to the internet because it says that I don't have any internet hardware. How do I set it so it uses my laptops airport?

I haven't taken it apart, but I doubt there's a stick of 128 in the computer because that would mean there's a 512, a 256, & only 1 of 2 128's inside. Doesn't make sense does it?

Surely there's 2 sticks of 512 inside. It's the Dell Inspiron 1501 from only a month ago, but I couldn't find any detailed info about how many slots are inside.

I installed Vista a week ago on my Toshiba p25-s507 and it says there's a Gig installed, so I know something isn't right with hers.

I've recently thought about installing this on my brothers laptop because Vista takes up too much of his memory. My question(s) are How easy is it to use? How easy is it to setup? I am running a p4 3.0 Northwood HT processor with three gigs of ram, 2x1gb sticks and 2x512mb sticks, all dual channel and pc3200. Its all matching brand name (corsair) but I haven't really seen a speed increase since I put in the extra gb (only reason I bought it was because a friend was selling it for only $30). My question is, is that much difference to have the extra gig, my boot time is still the same and so is my load time on all my games give or take a few seconds. I have another friend thats willing to pay $60 for the gig and I think ill be better off just selling it, what do you guys think.

Right now I have an Compaq Presario notebook computer, and it's a bit...rickety.

I want to save up and splurge for a really nice computer-- Probably at the beginning of next year when all the stuff goes on sale, (and i get my pay raise!)

What should I look for?
I really don't know much about computers.

My boyfriend keeps telling me I should get a Mac.

I don't want to skimp out, and I'm willing to spend.

I need it for school, and a lot of photo, graphics and art programs i use.

Also, I know that there is new technology developing every day, and there will be many new computers out in the next few months, I'm just looking for a general idea.

I get an error message saying the system needs to create a user partition and then another one saying it can't create the user partition and can't restore the computer. Any ideas why the restore CD has this problem.
