Right now I have an Compaq Presario notebook computer, and it's a bit...rickety.

I want to save up and splurge for a really nice computer-- Probably at the beginning of next year when all the stuff goes on sale, (and i get my pay raise!)

What should I look for?
I really don't know much about computers.

My boyfriend keeps telling me I should get a Mac.

I don't want to skimp out, and I'm willing to spend.

I need it for school, and a lot of photo, graphics and art programs i use.

Thanks so much!!

Also, I know that there is new technology developing every day, and there will be many new computers out in the next few months, I'm just looking for a general idea.

Get a MacBook, add some extra RAM, bigger hard drive if you want and you are set. If you are in college, you get a discount and free iPod Nano. The main advantage, you can relax about viruses. Apple also has the best tech support.

The best laptop that you can get for $1,125 from Pricemad is a Toshiba Satellite M65-S9092. I have one, and I love it. I would highly recommend it.

I agree, get one of the newest Macbook Pro Core Duo, they will run both Vista, like a regular PC plus Mac's OSX. so you get the best of both worlds
