If you are going to do this, take a Styrofoam ice cooler, wrap the laptop up in a blanket and store the blanket in the cooler and the cooler in the trunk.

This insulation (blanket) around the laptop will help it keep a steady temp while it sits in the trunk. It may get 130 in the trunk, but the Styrofoam will still keep out most of the heat.

Do not put it in the blanket right after use. Let it cool down first. MAKE SURE THAT THE LAPTOP IS TURNED OFF AND NOT HIBERNATING OR ON STANDBY. I WOULD PULL THE BATTERY OUT.

That being said, I would not do this unless I had no other choice.

not a good thing to do because it may be 90 degrees outside, but in the trunk it can get up to 130 degrees. so i would take it out before any real bad damage happens.
