I have a pavilion 8560c without any disk and I wish to restore it back to its original settings. I have Windows XP on it also. Can I restore it without its disk?? HELP!!!!!

I need to replace the DVD -RW drive on an Inspiron 600 M laptop because when I open it to put in a CD, it comes right out with just a data cable connecting it to the computer. Is this normal?

{The drive does not work. I've checked Device Manager (no error there), uninstall and reinstall driver, OS reports that device is working, device is enabled.}

Secondly, at what online site can I buy a replacement drive?

I just began a course on operating systems and you may have guessed it, I dont know squat about computers! I did however follow the step by step instructions to format a diskette using the DOS comand prompt.

Anyone have infomation or know a site that would tell me how to replace it if I bought the part? I've replaced a power supply, dvd burner and added a modem, but I think the processor is a lot more involved. If I could get some info on it, I'd give it a shot though.

I am using 4 columns to type text A,B,C,D. At the end of each D cell I click alt + enter to have the text start below on Column A. However when i am finished it send ALL the text into column A!

All of a sudden my computer will not do sound. ran all diagnostics and learn that the sound card on the intel motherboard has failed. comp manufacturer says i need to replace motherboard. computer is out of warrenty and really not worth a radical replacement. i purchased a usb 3d sound card whch has input and output thinking this would give me sound ability. (cost $10.) i have loaded the driver and attached the usb. but the programs that need a sound card still do not recognize. is there a way to completely disable the old sound card or work around to get the programs such as win media, real audio etc to run. btw i am running ms xp home on a dell dimension 2000.

When my flash memory is conected to USB port of my computer
